Utah Ski Weather began a little over a decade ago when graduate and senior undergraduate students in the Department of Atmospheric Science at the University of Utah saw a need for a winter recreation focused forecast for the students, faculty, and staff on campus. The “Greatest Snow on Earth” draws students to attend the University and they lacked high quality forecasts to plan their skiing or riding pursuits when not hitting the books. We officially became Utah Ski Weather in the fall of 2005 and now reach a wider audience with our forecasts and in depth discussions and conditions reports. Utah Ski Weather remains committed to providing accurate and useful forecasts to the skiing and riding community and also aim to educate students in the Department of Atmospheric Science in the intricacies of mountain weather forecasting.
