TL;DR: Some scraps will be moving through the state over the next few days. No major accumulations expected. More snow is possible right around New Years.
Currently, there is a closed low that is spinning over the desert southwest and is expected to slowly move off to the east. This will bring some minor accumulations to the mountains in southern Utah and little-to-none for the Wasatch.
Short-Term: As mentioned above, a closed low will slowly move off the east over the desert southwest. This will bring some minor accumulations over the Southern part of the state, little-to-none over the north.
A very weak shortwave will also move through the northern part of the state early next week. This should just bring a few showers.
Long-term: As we get into the new year, there is the chance for another round of snow for Utah. This might be our next best chance to see some real snowfall across the state. Until then, stay tuned…
